Guatemala is a multicultural, multilingual and multiethnic country. Its territory, mostly mountainous, is rich in biotic reserves and has great ecological beauty, as well as being a reservoir of numerous important archaeological niches. The color of its handicraft markets and its regional costumes, the hospitality of its people, the beauty of its natural landscapes that frame volcanoes, lakes, rivers and mountains, make Guatemala remain engraved in the hearts of those who visit it. Guatemala suffers from one of the highest levels of inequality in the world. Extreme inequality costs lives and affects the health of people with the fewest resources; prevents professional and economic improvement through quality education because young people, mainly women, poor, and indigenous people are excluded; encourages poverty, emigration, and the illicit economy due to poor conditions or few job opportunities; and it makes the right to decent and safe housing a privilege that only a few can afford.  

Lakepointe is working with our local church partner Hope Rising Fellowship in Leogane, Haiti, which is located near Port-au-Prince. The village that the church is in was affected by the devastating earthquake of 2010 that killed more than 230,000 Haitians. This area has never recovered from the severe physical and psychological damage and is one of the poorest areas in all of Haiti.   We do not currently have any sponsorships available.

Lakepointe is working with our church partner in India to help the economically less privileged of northern Bangalore. Your support will make an eternal impact and provide hot meals and formal school education through their church's child care center. Because of the transient lifestyle of many of the families, our traditional child sponsorship model does not work here. Instead, any donation - whether monthly, quarterly, annually, or one-time - will go toward the care center to cover their ongoing supply needs. Sponsoring a child for only $30/month provides a child and his or her family with various basic needs based on their situation including food, medical care, hygiene products, discipleship training and hope. Most sponsored children and their families survive on $1-2 per day, barely enough to provide one meal a day for most of the family.  In Mexico, you have the opportunity to sponsor the neediest children or children and adult orphans that require special needs, in non-traditional ways. The special needs orphans have been abandoned by their families and left to be raised by others. Their disabilities include cerebral palsy, autism, Down’s syndrome and other life changing disabilities.
