General Questions

Can I communicate with my sponsorship?

Yes, through your Donor Portal you can send messages to your sponsorship that include attached photo and video files. Please note that all communication between you and your sponsorship are moderated by our admins.

Is it OK to give my child my contact information?

No, we do not recommend giving any contact information to your child, including email addresses. All communication should go through Lakepointe Church.

Will I be able to send my child a gift?

At this time we do not have the capacity to mail gifts or physical letters.

Is there ever a reason my child would be removed from the sponsorship program?

Yes, a child may leave the program if they move away, leave or graduate school, stop attending church, decline support, or become financially stable.

Am I able to update my information and view details of my support?

Yes, once you donate you become a supporter in our system and will have access to our Donor Portal. You can login to view your support, update your contact and payment information, and much more.

Do you require a specific commitment length?

No. While we encourage you to sponsor your child until they graduate high school, we understand that life’s circumstances change and that might mean ending your sponsorship before that time. (Some sponsorships involve special needs adults or orphans with disabilities - these sponsorships are on ongoing commitment until the family can sustain improvements on their own.)

Can I cancel my sponsorship at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your sponsorship from your Donor Portal at anytime.

Financial Questions

How much does sponsorship cost?

The cost of sponsorship is $30 a month.

Can I pay for my sponsorship quarterly or annually?

Yes. The sponsorship page shows the monthly amount of sponsorship. However, on the checkout page, you can modify your payment frequency to quarterly or annually.

What percentage of my sponsorship fees go toward administrative costs?

Zero. We don’t use any of the sponsorship money to cover administrative costs. All of the sponsorship fees go directly to supporting the sponsored child.

What happens if my payments are interrupted?

We will contact you after two failed payment attempts to figure out how to proceed.

Will I receive tax receipts for my donations?

Yes, you will receive donation receipts upon donation. You can also print individual receipts and yearly contribution statements at anytime from your Donor Portal.

Do you accept one-time donations to my sponsorship for birthdays or holidays?

Yes, you can login to your Donor Portal, go to your sponsorship’s record and add a one-time donation.
