Mexico - Matamoros (MT)
Matamoros is a city in the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is on the southern bank of the Rio Grande, directly across the border from Brownsville, TX, United States. Matamoros if the second largest city in the state of Tamaulipas. As of 2016, Matamoros had a population of 520,367. Matamoros is the 39th largest in Mexico and anchors the second largest metropolitan area in Tamaulipas. Additionally there is a very large disabled and physically challenged community. Lakepointe, through the local church partner Iglesia Bautista AMMI, has been able to help meet the medical needs within this community. We have also been able to reach out to the kids through the local church, and we are starting our Child Sponsorship Ministry.
